New Orleans in Style

I am so excited to share my vacation outfits with you all. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know how #blessed I was to have a table of girls tell me how cute my two-piece skirt set was. Let’s be honest, women dress for women and there is no better compliment than someone going out of their way to say something nice to you.

We thought it was a good idea to road trip to Kansas City in the middle of the night to catch a 6 a.m. flight so by the time we landed in New Orleans Saturday morning, we’d all been up for nearly 12 hours. I am in shock & awe of everyone who dresses so cute to travel. I am 110% about comfort and there is nothing worse to me than being cold on an airplane so I was in sweats the whole trip.

Once we landed we made a few mimosa and hit the pool. I absolutely love the fun colors of this suit. It’s not Prime but it was worth the wait. I ordered a medium and it fits TTS. The material is great quality and thick. The top is lightly padded and very comfortable. The best part, it was only $19.00!!! You can grab this suit here. It comes in 10+ patterns & colors including an adorable USA-themed pattern for the 4th and cheetah print. I want them all. It’s a struggle.

If you didn’t catch my $16.00 fedora in the May Amazon Haul, here is the link for it again. Both of my girlfriends loved it and I wear it all the time. If you follow me for fashion advice TRUST ME, you need a fedora this season!

After an hour or so at the pool, we decided to head to Bourbon Street. We grabbed a Hurricane from Pat O’Briens that none of us liked and danced to 90’s music. Surprisingly we have no pictures from this venture, probably because we were running on 2 hours of plane-seat sleep since Thursday night. Needless to say, we made it back to the hotel for dinner and crashed.

Sunday morning we had brunch at Flamingo Go-Go with $12.00 bottomless mimosas. Wish I could link those here for all of us. I got to wear my adorable two-piece set from SHEIN. Here is the link for this cute look. It was $20.00. This will go down in history as a super steal in my book. I ordered it in a medium and it fit TTS. SHEIN can be hit or miss but they nailed it on this one. Again, my fedora went great with the outfit and helped keep me cool in the Louisiana sunshine.

After brunch it was back to Bourbon. We danced, drank, danced, drank, danced and then had seafood. It was fabulous. Jay got us these adorable tanks made. I snagged the tanks from Target for $8.00 and you can get your own here. The color we’re wearing is “smoked pink”. Target is my go-to for any layering tanks. I love the quality of the fabric, the stretch and the fit.

We got so many compliments on these! I love them.

Since we were a few hand grenades and fried shrimp deep, we decided to go back to the pool and Facetime everyone we know & love. Great choices.

Sunday night we headed to Frenchman Street for some live jazz music. I wore this adorable F21 romper and these Gucci dupe sunnies. The sunnies are only $14.00 and you can grab a pair here. I just bought this romper last month and it’s already sold out. I’ll keep an eye out for you girls for a restock.

Our 3rd musketeer had to cut out early so we headed back to Bourbon for more dancing. Lots of 00’s pop. It was sweaty & fun & I stayed on my feet the whole time. Win.

Monday we had to head home. We all agreed we needed one more day in New Orleans, maybe two. I wore this Target dress from last season to grab some beignets from Café du Monde. I honestly thought they were going to be overhyped but they’re the real deal you guys. Delicious. Unfortunately, since the dress is last season this exact style is no longer available BUT I’m linking a very similar style here for you. It’s just as cute, same color scheme & floral print and only $20.00.

We walked about the French Quarter with mojitos and then toured Cemetery No. 1. It was hot and there was about 1″ of shade in the whole place but it was fascinating. Worth the sunburns & swollen feet.

New Orleans, we loved ya! We will definitely be back for your affordable drinks, delicious seafood, nostalgic nightlife and history.

Hope you guys found some fun pieces & put NOLA on your trip list.

Xo,

Kay
